EVANGELISM REMINDER

In his second letter to the Thessalonians, he mentions that the Gospel came TO (2) them, that he was praying FOR (4) them that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified IN (N) them.

“because our testimony to you was believed. To this end we always pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling and may fulfill every resolve for good and every work of faith by his power, so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.”

It is good to remind ourselves of the entire business of evangelism. Paul was not content to see them turn from idols to serve the living and true God, (1Th. 1.9) but prayed for them always with a specific purpose. “So that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you.”

If we are ministering in the slums of Rio de Janeiro or the gated communities of Bel Air, this is our calling and this is our hope. Going to, praying for that the Lord Jesus’ name would be glorified in.
